In pain? Try a different type of massage.
Do you have chronic pain that won't go away no matter how many massages you get? You might want to try a different style of massage. Instead of getting a Swedish or relaxing massage , try a different style of massage, like neuromuscular rehabilitative therapy or deep tissue massage . You might also ask your massage therapist to incorporate some trigger point therapy techniques or NMRT into your massage. Or maybe even some energy work. Dealing with long-term pain can cause some discomfort during the actual massage, but remember -- you are in control of the pressure -- and you will feel better in the long term.
